Are you fed up of always getting left with sun beds in the least desirable location around the pool, or even worse, finding that there is nowhere left to lay down your towel for the day. The new Thomas Cook "Sun bed Reservation" service could be the answer to your problems and will be tested out in The Canary Islands .
One hotel in Lanzarote, The Sentido Aequora in Puerto Del Carmen, has been initially selected to take part in a trial period, with a further 30 own-brand hotels to be chosen for summer 2018
What is the sun bed reservation service?
The new service will offer holidaymakers the chance to reserve the sun bed of their choice before they arrive at their destination. They will receive an email six days before departure asking if they would like to reserve their beds. The trial scheme offers this service at £22 (approx €25) per sun bed.
A spokesman for the company said. “By paying this small fee, you can have a lie-in, secure in the knowledge that there is a sunbed with your name on it.”
Between 10 and 20 per cent of sunbeds will be bookable, leaving the rest free for early risers.
