Where is Lanzarote?

Lanzarote is the fourth largest of the Canary Islands and governed by Spain. It takes around 4 hours to fly to Lanzarote from the UK (depending on the point of your departure). Due to the popularity of Lanzarote as a holiday destination there are excellent air services from the United Kingdom from most major airports.

Where to stay in Lanzarote?

In a nutshell, there are three main tourist resorts - Playa Blanca, Costa Teguise and Puerto del Carmen. Each resort is very different in terms of what it offers. Puerto del Carmen is by far the largest resort and very popular with younger holiday makers, whilst Costa Teguise is a firm favourite with the families. Without trying to stereotype too much Playa Blanca is more suited for those that want to take time out whilst on holiday and is perhaps more suitable for the older family and couples.

The best time to visit Lanzarote?

LanzaroteThe weather in Lanzarote is generally good all year, with plenty of warmth and sunshine in the winter months. The island sees little in the way of rain, although it can be quite windy at times especially during the hot summer months. The winds tend to drop around September and October which provides a very pleasant climate for holiday makers. The wettest times on the island are typically February and March, and November when the temperature can drop due to a coverage of low clouds and intermittent rain showers.
