A Spanair flight landing at Arrecife, Lanzarote

Lanzarote Transport

Lanzarote is a small island, although if you want to discover the amazing natural history of the island you will need to know how to get around.

Taxis: Right outside the arrival lounge you’ll find the taxi rank. Getting into Arrecife will take you around 5 to 10 minutes and could cost you about € 6,00. Be aware that there might be a small extra charge if you have much luggage. Trips to the major holiday resorts Costa Teguise, Puerto del Carmen and Playa Blanca can cost from € 9,00 to € 27,00 according to the distance.

Bus: There are regular guagas (that’s how buses are called in Lanzarote) between the airport and Arrecife. The journey by bus takes longer than travelling by taxi, but it is also considerably cheaper. You will need around 30 minutes to get to the capital. Unfortunately, there are no busses serving this connection during the night and the last leaves the airport shortly after 19.00 hrs.

Car Hire: Most of the international car rental companies and many Spanish companies will be represented at the airport. More information can be found on our Lanzarote Car Hire page
