Lanzarote Tours and Excursions
Tours and Excursions are a great way to get around Lanzarote to see the sights and attractions.
Many people go on holiday to Lanzarote to relax and soak up the sun, but what they might not realise is how much the island has to offer in terms of its history and things to do.
Most of the main holiday resorts have an excursion booking office, and many tour companies take their bookings at hotel receptions. The excursions will often collect you from your hotel, or ask you to meet at a point nearby to where you are staying.
Some excursions will visit specific events or attractions where as others will take you on tours of different regions of the island.
Below are some of the tours that you might want to consider booking:
Teguise Market
Taking part every Sunday morning, Teguise Market, takes over the historic capital of Lanzarote.
The small, winding streets of Teguise are lined with market stalls selling everything from local crafts and produce to clothes and surfing gear.
The market atmosphere is created by local musicians playing anything from Pan Pipes to the Electric Guitar, along with your traditional Canarian music of course!
Timanfaya National Park
The Timanfaya National Park is a must for any visitor to Lanzarote.
The landscape of craters, volcanos and volcanic fields really is a sight to be seen. The main tourist attraction within the park is a man made route that stretches 14km, up to its highest point of 370m. During this guided journey you can witness the amazing shapes and colours that the park has to offer, along with countless craters and crevices. It's a fascinating journey that is almost out of this world. Within the Park holiday makers that visit the park will take the windy road up to the El Diablo restaurant that offers a panoramic view over the Timanfaya National Park.
Visit a neighbouring Island
Take a trip to the island of La Graciosa, off the north coast of Lanzarote or sample the difference of Fuerteventura by Ferry from Playa Blanca.
These two islands couldn't be more different. La Graciosa is a remote island off the north coast of Lanzarote and has the most amazing beaches. It's like being on your own desert Island.
Fuerteventura is located to the south of Lanzarote. Take a Ferry from Playa Blanca and dock in Corralejo where there is no shortage of shopping. If you want to explore a bit more there are some fantastic sand dunes to the East!
Different tour companies will offer different types of excursions. Before you book always make sure that you spend time looking through what each tour involves, and book the tour that you find matches your interests (and budget!)
If you want to discover the island without booking an excursion, Car Hire is a very cost effective way to get around Lanzarote.
