The Cactus Gardens
Cesar Manrique designed a stunning cactarium in Gautiza, an area in the north of the island. This beautiful garden was the final piece of work that the famous architect designed here in Lanzarote. True to his consistent style, the attraction has been design to integrate effortlessly with the island's natural landscape without causing any obstruction at all.
There are more than 1000 species of cacti in this peaceful and tranquil park, originating from all over the world, including The Canary Islands, Mexico, Chile, Kenya, Africa, Madagascar, USA, and Morocco. Visitors can enjoy these magnificent plants whilst walking along the winding cobbled pathways through the gardens. There is a windmill in the park, which makes for some pretty photo opportunities against the black volcanic rock.
