Puerto del Carmen
Puerto Del Carmen is the most vibrant resort in Lanzarote, with something for every member of the family. The seafront promenade is lined with over 300 music bars, night clubs, restaurants, and cafes. You can shop until you drop in the home from home high street shops, or relax on the beaches and soak up the sun.
The old town is the most traditional part of the resort, and there is a market here every Friday afternoon. Here you will find traditional Canarian goods, handmade crafts, handbags, sunglasses, and beverage stalls. A taxi to the market will cost approximately 5 euros depending on where abouts in the resort you are travelling from.
If you enjoy seafood, then a meal in the harbour is certainly recommended. The resaurants here are of fantastic standard, and many of them serve freshly caught fish of the day. There is a vegetarian cafe here called the Blooming Cactus, along with a Caribbean tapas bar, and a rustic Polish restaurant.
The old town is also home to some of Lanzarote's most popular music bars.It will take approximately ten minutes to walk to the main town of Puerto Del Carmen, and along the way you will pass the Biosphere shopping center. This is home to the unique rooftop outdoor cinema, and also where you can find high street stores such as Zara and Bershka.
Playa Grande is the main beach once you reach the promenade. There is an inflatable total wipeout style obstacle course at sea if you fancy being adventurous, or alternatively you can relax on one of the sun beds and watch the world go by. Behind the beach is an array of places to get a coffee or a spot of lunch.
